Anita Wilson
West Virginia Field Consultant
Ms. Wilson has been involved in the reproductive rights movement
for over three decades. An active member of Clergy and Lay Consultation Service
on Abortion in Dayton, Ohio,
before Roe v. Wade, she founded the Dayton Women’s Health Center in 1973
and was the Executive Director until 1997. During her tenure there, she
served on several local, state and national boards including Freedom of Choice
Ohio, NARAL of Ohio,
and the National Abortion Federation. Ms. Wilson was a contributing editor to the
National Abortion Federation’s first “Standards of Abortion
Care” and its subsequent Clinical Policies. Since leaving the center, she have
been active in a variety of reproductive health centers as well as worked on
related human rights issues. Ms. Wilson holds a BA in Social Work, a MS in Mental
Health Counseling, and is a National Certified Counselor (though currently
retired) and a Licensed Professional Counselor State of Ohio.
