Director of Field Initiatives

 

Ms. Jackson is a social justice activist and community organizer on a variety of health and social issues affecting women and people of color across different groups. Previously, she worked as the Project Coordinator for the Collaborative for Abuse Prevention in Racial and Ethnic Communities (C.A.R.E.), a CDC-funded field project designed to increase access to sexual assault and domestic violence services for women of African-descent in Boston, including poor women, immigrants, and African-American women. She has facilitated numerous trainings and workshops on racial justice, anti-oppression organizing, and reproductive justice for women of color. She is an advisory board member to the Mass CEDAW (Convention to End All Forms of Discrimination Against Women) Project; a founding member of Boston Incite! Women of Color Against Violence; the chair of the Boston Women of Color Coalition for Reproductive Justice, and a board member of Alternatives for Community and Environment (ACE), which works to achieve environmental justice for low-income communities of color in Boston. Ms. Jackson supervises AAP’s field team and oversees efforts to improve access to abortion including the Rural Abortion Provider Initiative and Low Income Access project.
