AAP is honored to welcome Wyndi Anderson to the Board of
Directors. Wyndi is a leading feminist and social justice advocate who has been
working for the protection of human rights for over ten years. Her recent work
for the rights of drug-addicted women has earned her national recognition as a
leader in both the women's rights and the drug policy reform movements. She has
been profiled in national publications, such as Ms. Magazine and Glamour, and
she is frequently sought out for comment by members of both the United States
and international press. She served as the Executive Director of South Carolina
Advocates for Pregnant Women and National Organizer for the National Advocates
for Pregnant Women (NAPW), and has served on the board of Choice USA for seven
years.
"It is a pleasure to become more involved with an
organization whose work I have long admired. I have been particularly impressed
by the implicit courage in AAP's commitment to work in low access areas and to
focus and embrace abortion issues," notes Wyndi. "It is an important statement
to keep "abortion" in an organization's name - both to destigmatize women who
need care and the providers who offer it."
AAP welcomes Wyndi and looks forward to the addition of her
leadership and expertise to our work.
