AAP welcomes Lisa Stone PDF Print E-mail

AAP is honored to welcome Lisa Stone to the Board of Directors. Lisa M. Stone has been Executive Director of Legal Voice (formerly the Northwest Women's Law Center), a  non-profit legal advocacy organization dedicated to advancing legal rights for women, for more than 14 years.

"I was first introduced to AAP in 2001 when the organization worked with Legal Voice (then NWLC) to develop legal memos on advanced practice  clinicians in a number of states," notes Lisa. "Since then, I've been impressed by strategic, focused growth and its commitment to expanding access to abortion as well as to reproductive justice."

In addition to her experience litigating on behalf of women patients and reproductive health care providers, she has expertise in the areas of civil rights, sex discrimination, the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons, and non-profit legal issues. She has been an attorney with the federal government and in private practice, and an environmental manager with a national oil spill cleanup company. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Washington Law School in 1985. AAP welcomes Lisa and looks forward to her guiding hand in the organization's leadership.
