The Abortion Access Project is a nonprofit organization based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, established in 1992 by activists and health professionals concerned about the declining numbers of abortion providers. Our mission is to ensure access to safe abortion for all women in the U.S. To this end, AAP looks for gaps in abortion access that no one else is addressing and seeks to create and support innovative responses to these gaps. Our current priority is to increase the participation of a wide range of health care providers in providing and connecting women to safe abortion care, particularly in rural and low-income areas. We emphasize work with local partners to achieve locally-driven, locally-relevant goals and connect this work to national organizations also interested in expanding access. In addition to our home office staff, AAP employs a team of field consultants to coordinate state-level project activity in multiple states across the U.S and partners with national and state-based organizations to develop and implement project activities. AAP engages talented and enthusiastic staff, field consultants and partners to be part of a committed team working on access to abortion. AAP offers competitive compensation packaged and is committed to staff development. We value diversity and are proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
