Core Values PDF Print E-mail

AAP holds a set of core values – fundamental principles that articulate the organization’s vision of the broader context of abortion and which guide AAP’s work.  These are:

  • We believe that by being clearly focused on abortion within the context of our broader values, we will make significant contributions to women’s health and autonomy.

  • We believe all people should be able to obtain needed health care including abortion.

  • We believe in the right of all people to make free and informed decisions about their bodies, in particular regarding sexuality, pregnancy and birth.

  • We believe in the right of all people to accurate and clear information and education about achieving and preventing pregnancy, pregnancy, and all of its possible outcomes.

  • We view abortion through a wide lens, defining the range of services that comprise abortion care and who is a provider broadly.

  • We respect, value and strive to be responsive to the needs of the people who work for and with us, and support opportunities for their growth and development.

  • We believe that innovation and flexibility are key to achieving our highest impact and we strive to measure this impact meaningfully.
